FootHolde's Minnesota Winter Clinics a Huge Success

FootHolde's winter soccer clinics have become a huge hit for Minnesota's committed soccer players! Excellence of Attack, held last Nov-Dec., filled to capacity at the Bielenberg Dome in Woodbury, and catered to 75+ players at its 1st clinic in Minnetonka. Individual Competitive Development (ICD), held Jan-March at the Augsburg Dome in Minneapolis, has been a big success with 75+ players attending on Friday nights.

Excellence of Attack focuses on scoring and creating goals. Players improve their ball striking technique, learn 1 v 1 attacking moves, improve their decision making skills in attacking situations, and become more comfortable in front of the goal. The creative attacking activities to big goals as well as and the small group coaching environment have been a real hit with the players! Excellence of Atack also contains a Goalkeeper Training Component for committed goalkeepers.

ICD focuses on individual player development - with a ball striking component, performance training component (strength, agility, and injury prevention techniques), and an individual competitive component. The focus of ICD is to help players become more comfortable with the ball while encouraging them to work hard in a competitive training environment.

Lastly, at FootHolde we strongly believe that player development is accentuated by PLAYING THE GAME (we start every clinic with free-play "street soccer" games) with other high-level and committed soccer players, allowing for independent problem solving, creativity and an overall passion for the game.

All FootHolde Winter Clinics cater to BOTH younger and older players - a U13-U17 group of premier and C1 level players (open to c2 players also); and U9-U12 group of younger players.

FootHolde Director Jonathan Schaefer summarizes the philosophy behind FootHolde's various curricula, stating...

"Player development is the #1 objective behind all of our training...and we feel strongly that our curricula provide the perfect combination of fitness, ball mastery, competition, and free play - in an extremely challenging and high-quality training environment. Honestly, where else can a player get in top physical shape, learn to strike a 40-yard ball, and battle in small-sided games, all while competing and having fun with other great players...IN THE WINTER?"
